Individualized Corrective Treatment with Invisalign
Why Choose Invisalign over Traditional Braces?
Comfort and ease of use are two top reasons patients choose Invisalign. Treatment plans are customized for each patient at Summit Dental, so there are no generic parts used. The series of clear trays are designed with precision to move teeth into place gradually. Some patients simply do not prefer announcing to the world they are going through corrective treatment as obvious with traditional braces.
On top of looks, Invisalign is more efficient and “user-friendly.” Foods that must be avoided when wearing braces are back on the plate again with Invisalign because the trays are removed before eating. Anyone who has experienced getting hit in the face with a ball during gym class would understand why a clear plastic tray is more comfortable than traditional braces.
A Plan for Each Patient
Dr. Jacob Laudie at Jacob Laudie Dental uses a combination of digital x-rays and impressions to create a 3-D image of the mouth structure. The digital model is used to create a step-by-step plan for treatment. The length of treatment varies from about six months to one year for most patients. A series of trays are made to slowly move teeth into their final position. Trays are made of smooth, BPA free plastic for patient comfort. The nearly invisible trays are swapped out every two weeks.
Oral hygiene is much easier with Invisalign than with traditional braces because the trays are removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. There are no wires or brackets to trap food particles. The staining that often accompanies traditional braces is avoided by brushing teeth and trays at least twice a day. Invisalign trays should be worn a minimum of 20 hours a day.
Once teeth are in their final position, it is time for the next step. While Invisalign provides a superior corrective experience than braces, Vivera retainers use Invisalign technology to prevent movement. Dr. Laudie is the Lees Summit dentist to see with questions about the benefits of Invisalign.
